The Art of Seeing – Searching for Light is a retrospective of Peter Sanders work over sixty years. Jonathan Swift said that “Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others.” Sanders has experienced a many faceted life, beginning his photographic career in London in the 1960s and from 1970s he travelled extensively around the world searching for a higher meaning to his life. This project is an attempt to find a visual explanation to photographing famous rock music icons and photographing hidden saints and sages. From the trauma of war, famine and refugees and the peace of sacred spaces. From a self- indulgent life to lives dedicated to serving others.
